Kevin Icard is the director of growth management for Bluffton, South Carolina.
He is responsible for managing the permitting and planning of the town’s development, as well as supervising the Town’s Customer Service Center (i.e., Town’s front desk operations) and the building safety code division.
Prior to Icard’s position in Bluffton, he worked in several roles in Charlotte, North Carolina, including urban planning, community development, and facilities management in both the public and private sectors.
Icard earned two bachelor’s degrees from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in geography and sociology. He is a certified planner, the designation awarded from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
Icard and his wife, Ashley, have two teenage sons, Eli and Finn. He is also an active member of F3, a community, faith-based workout group, and of the Lowcountry Community Church. Icard is also a grill master and loves sharing his love of bar-b-que with the local community. He is often the lead grill instructor at Town events.
