Bluffton Town Council is seeking qualified applicants for appointment to its boards, commissions and committees.
The most immediate need for new appointees exists on the Law Enforcement Citizens Advisory Committee and Municipal Elections Commission.
• The Municipal Elections Commission has one vacancy for a Town resident who is a registered voter eligible to vote in Town of Bluffton elections.
• The Law Enforcement Citizens Advisory Committee has two vacancies for residents within the boundaries of the Town of Bluffton Growth Framework Map.
The Town welcomes applications for all boards, committees and commissions regardless of current vacancies. Though qualifications for appointment may vary for each board, committee or commission, most appointments require residency within the Town of Bluffton. Applications are kept on file for two years and there are vacancies which occur throughout the year. Applicants will be considered for any vacancies for which the applicant may qualify that occur during the time their application is on file.

Descriptions and requirements for each committee which currently have vacancies are also below.
Law Enforcement Citizens Advisory Committee:
The nine (9) member Law Enforcement Citizens Advisory Committee is tasked with serving as an advisory board to the Bluffton Police Department and Town Council by bringing to their attention, the feedback of the community regarding public safety concerns. Further, the Committee is devoted to facilitating the free flow of ideas and discussions to improve the safety of all citizens and visitors. Committee members will interact with community-based organizations that provide services within the Town of Bluffton; support various groups in the Town of Bluffton to ensure a coordinated effort for public safety between all parties; and provide a forum for residents to share comments, issues or concerns regarding law enforcement services. This Committee was established on January 14, 2020, by Town Council and to date, no appointments have been made.
Municipal Election Commission:
The three (3) member Municipal Election Commission is required to conduct, supervise and manage municipal, special, and general elections, certify election results, and hear any protests arising from the election per the South Carolina Code of Laws, Section 5-15-90(A). Meetings of the Municipal Election Commission are scheduled as necessary.
